What is Naturopathy?
It is a system which seeks healing naturally by supporting the body with whole foods, botanicals, homeopathic preparations, herbs, extracts, minerals, enzymes, vitamins, therapeutic bodyworks such as massage, reflexology, acupressure, and exercises.
How can naturopathy work for you?
Disease and sickness occur in the body because there is something out of balance. A naturopath’s responsibility is to identify these imbalances and use methods to restore naturally, harmony and balance to assist the body's healing process. It is a non-invasive healthcare in which neither drugs or surgeries are used, emphasis being placed on education, counseling and health assessment. There is an evaluation process that will take place in a consultation to determine what methods would be best to restore health. Specific nutritional guidelines will be suggested to help you meet optimal level of health restoration.
The naturopath’s major role is to educate and encourage you, the client to take responsibility for your health and to be a catalyst for healthful lifestyle changes. It is you, and not the naturopath who ultimately creates and accomplishes healing.
What is Naturopathy generally used for?
Naturopathy is appropriate for all states of health including Immune Wellness, Oncology, Detoxification, Addiction Recovery, Stress and Anxiety, Allergies, Diabetes, Prostate Condition, High Blood Pressure, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Insomnia, Migraine Prevention and Rejuvenation.
Insurance is not accepted. Prior or during your visit you will be asked to complete detailed health questionnaire forms and return them within a few days.
The Basic Tenets of Naturopathy...
The Healing Power of Nature. The body has the ability to heal itself and it is the Naturopaths role to facilitate this natural process.
Identify and Treat the Causes. The underlying root causes of disease must be removed to complete the healing process. Root causes can exist at many levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It is a Naturopaths role to identify the root cause, in addition to alleviate suffering by treating these symptoms.
First, Do No Harm. The process of healing includes the manifestation of symptoms so that any therapy that interferes with this natural healing process, by masking these symptoms is considered suppressive and should be avoided. The natural life force of the individual should be supported to facilitate healing.
Treat the Whole Person. Every individual client deserves a personalized healing plan, and all the complex factors. It is the role of the Naturopath to educate and encourage the client to take responsibility for their own health. This cooperative relationship between the Naturopath and the client is essential to healing. The ultimate goal of the Naturopath is Prevention.

A true Naturopath (or "Traditional" Naturopath) does not "practice medicine." If a person is in an automobile accident, he does not, and should not, seek out a Naturopath! He needs a medical doctor and a hospital to address his injuries. Rather, a person who is not injured, but is interested in optimizing his current state of health and wellness, should visit a Traditional Naturopath. This individual will be educated on lifestyle methods that will enhance his, or her, personal health based on evaluation.
An "ND" (Doctor of Naturopathy) is a professional that has earned a degree in alternative and complimentary methods that do not involve drugs, surgery, or any invasive methods. They are simply teachers of natural health and wellness practices!
An "MD" (Medical Doctor) uses techniques and practices such as chemicals, drugs, surgery and other therapies designed to address the codified symptomology of disease.
